I'm going to guess you floated a valve and the valve fell right through the retainer? That spark plug looks like a nitrous backfire gone bad haha. Good luck with the rebuild.

What was done to the head??? I just got through going through my motor 1=-2-3-2 shift..... 8600 RPM to 11,800 (H22).... not a happy place for the big block to be, LOL.

Supertech springs and retainers... Ferrea valves.... FTMFW...I coldnt believe that all that happened was I broke an oil pump...... Honed it, new rings and bearings... Oil pump, HG and Im back making 600+. Sucks man... I was SO SURE iI was going to see the exact thing in my motor when I opened it...

Lookls like all four were detonating pretty well prior by the pics....

SOrry man, shitty deal.

Nah not the head lifting... Valves getting floated would do it though, and it looks like a MIs shift to me.

yeah the valve def. floated, but the only reason id say the head lifted is all the black is removed from the hg in between the cylinders.
