built F23, accord turbo upgrade - looking for recommendations/input on size/trim
Hi all,
The turbo I've been running for the past few years has been nothing but problems. 2 rebuilds in 2 years, and after hearing audible detonation (thank god for my det cans - no knock registered on sensor) I found a lot of oil in my charge pipes AGAIN, which seems to be causing the detonation (oil in air). Time for a new turbo, which brings me here.
Motor setup:
F23 - 2.3L sohc - 8.5:1 CR, crower billet rods, stock sleeves, stock head
won't be spinning past 7000 rpms
new turbo must have T3 hot side with 5-bolt exhaust flange
majority street driven w/ occasional track time
goal: turbo to support 400 whp
I am thinking of an SC34 with .63 AR hot side.
Also considering the cheaper route: t/to4e 57 trim .63 AR.
Looking for thoughts/recommendations, thanks!

if you want something cheap and something that'll last you. i highly suggest the Borg Warner GM-8 Turbo...
It is like a t3/t4 but w/ better technology from what I read. The cold side is .70a/r and the hot side is .0 a/r. On my built f22 I get full boost at 3500RPM's when I launch it from a dig. It is a great turbo and it has a nice powerband..
