Default Built B18C Set up

Well over the last 1 week since I bought my 92 Black VX Hatchback I have changed my mind about the car several times. First I wanted the do the H22 swap and then I had some other thoughts. Well today I ordered the bottom end from http://www.vsracingparts.com . My goal is 650whp at around 25-30psi and the car will weigh 2000 pounds with the driver. I am hoping to have it completed in a couple months.

B18C Block
Crower Rods
Darton Sleeves
84.5mm Endyn 9.5 to 1 pistons
completely Balanced bottom
polished crank
ARP studs
everything else needed for the bottom end etc.

Everything else going on with it
B16 Trans
Phantom LSD
Stage 4 clutch
Stage 4 axles

B16 head
Port FLow Porting
SS Valves, retainers and springs
Skunk 2 stage 3 cams and intake manifold
70mm Throttle Body

Hondata 2b
boost option
960's
Ext. Fuel Pump
Reg and gauge
MSD Ignition

Ball Bearing T66, .68AR, Ptrim
SS Equal Length Maifold
Spearco 2-216 FMIC w/2.5" piping

Drag Coilovers

Let me know what you guys think. I am hoping 650whp is possible without problems. I will be taking the car to AEBS to have the Hondata tuned.

Skip the phantom grip.. Don't try and save the few dollars there. Get yourself a Quaiffe.

I would stay away from the skunk2 cams, go with stock ctr or something that has alot of duration but not much lift.

cause a t66 for 650 to the wheels is overkill. he didn't say if it was for a street car or not. but if it is, ythen you really don't need that turbo. i know for a fact you can make at least 640 to the wheels on a sc63 and thats smaller and cheaper.

lose the cams as well. try a nice cheap set of gsr cams. spend your money elsewhere.

i know an sc63 will make the power. i agree if its for the streets then go with the sc63. but if not the go with the t66. and i would go with stock cams too.

Thanks for the replys. I am use to DSM as I hae been building them for many years. Big Cams on a 500hp set up will give yuo big improvements. I bought the B20 turbo Integra about 3 weeks ago and decided to buy and now build the HB.

The car will be a weekend/strip car. I will drive it when I feel like it and when it is running. After all the work is completed it won't be my main mode of transportation. I own RnR Racing so get dealer/wholeprices on most of the stuff. I am going with a Turbonetics turbo because I have a contract with already. We sell turbo kits for DSM's and have had good success with Turbonetics.

So what cams are recommended for a turbo set up? I know all the top cars aren't running stock cams. What cams are out there made for turbos?

I was planning on running the CM stage 4 clutch along with the DSS stage 4 axles. I don't want to cut any corners or have any reason why my car won't put out max possible power.

I plan on spending many hours and trips to the dyno.

most people making under 650 - 700 hp to the wheels use stock gsr cams. run a clutchmasters twin disc and DDS stage 5 axles if you don't wanna cut corners. if you ever put slicks on that car, you'll need both of those items. and if your going to go bigger than 25" slicks...even those won't hold. i still think you should come down a notch on the turbo size. turbonetics makes great turbos....but a t66 is overkill. good luck.

If GSR cams are all I need then thats what I am going to use. That will save some money to put towards things that will make the car more relaible going down the track. I plan on running 28x10x15 slicks and 15 skinnys in the back. I don't know what suspension set up tp go with either. I want some type of Drag coilovers.

I am thinking if I don't go with the BB T66 then I might go with the a little smaller straight T4 62-1, P trim, .68AR. This turbo should be capable of producing 600whp hopefully.

I might just spring for the stage 5 axles and CM twin dicc which I have never heard of. I just want the car to be very fast. I just need to find someone who can tune the Hondata in So Cal. There is a shop here in SD that is a dealer, but I want the best tuner. Anybody got any suggestions.
