building a TURBO LS setup
I got an LS motor. im ready to send off to a machine shop. i know i wanna rebalance the crank. lower the compression 8.5.1, and install new internals. Now is there any thing that im missing, and should i consider serious head work. I wanna run at full strength at the track maybe 15 lbs.
i would stay stock compression no need to lower it. second off just get some retainers and sprigns for the heade so you can rev a little safer. 15lbs is easily good for 280+hp
Just go with a set of eagle rods and a good set of pistons any brand really and that should be really safe in ls.

No need to lower the compression. I run 8.8 in mine, I like it but I would get flat top pistons next time. Everything else Mr. V has said will do you juuuuuust fine. Don't forget to tune, and NO SHORTCUTS!!
I have 9.8:1 and have no problems boosting up to 25psi with just 100 octane (yeah its at some regular Sunoco stations in PA). Not to say you wont i have a Power Fc and where the ignition timing came programmed is where i left it. i think at 20 psi and up im at around 23 deg if that helps.
Hey....you're in Central NJ too, eh?
Anywho...if you have your crank cut (just in case you do), watch out, cuz you can't use Honda bearings anymore. They don't have any undersized ones. You'd have to go aftermarket. I used Clevite.
I have my JE's at 9.2 and once tuned, I should be at 18psi pretty reliably. You should check out the NJ BBQ this Sunday the 19th and maybe we can swap some info.
