Default Build Question..

Hey guys..I have a few questions about my turbo build I have going on...so far I have a aeb sleeved b16 bored to 84.5mm and im going to be running eagle rods with supertech pistons..head will have proper valve train to run pro2s with a skunk2 IM and a lovefab ram horn manifold w/ a sc61 precision turbo.

My dilemma is that I just got a si w/ a b16 that has a set of skunk2 pro 2s in it..im wondering if my setup will be enough to run these cams and get good power gains out of them while staying reliable or should I just stick with my gsr cams I was previously going to run?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice you guys can give.

whats your power goals and how much boost u plan on running. I believe pro2 are generally used in higher boost application over 20 i think. Gsr are good theres a lot of good cams you can chosse between the two of them

Pro2s are too large of a cam for that sized turbo IMO.

Power goals are roughly 450+...my tuner won't go much higher then that on pump if I make it safely...planning on running about 22-24 lbs.. Ya I heard pro2s are too big for my car and i've also heard that they can do some horrible wear on your motor running boost on them..

This topic has been discussed at great length many times...

Pro 2s run a lot of overlap, and are not the best cams for your set up imo. With the size turbo and hp goals, I would suggest CTR/ITR cams for the most reliability and idle. If you have the cash and want to go with something else, I would considder s2 pro1s...

first of all the name similarities are awesome lol...well thanks for the info..i'll probably just stick with the gsrs..running low on cash anyways right now..believe it or not tried searching up running boost with pro2s and just running them in general couldn't really find a whole lot suprisingly.. Thanks again for the advice..or will look into trade the 2s for the 1s who knows.

for your HP goals the gsrs will work just fine and give you a broad powerband, not as much peak power but more useable street power, Enjoy
