yeah I would call up and make them pay for a mechine shop to check everything out to make sure nothing else got damaged and what not since it was shipped with one on it then they didnt ship it back with the oil pan.

Im assuming it was on a crate right?

Definetely took a nice blow for that to happen

Was it completely broken off or just cracked/hanging?

If you can get insurance to cover you for a complete block youll be golden man

What's the big deal I would just superglue that. Or duct tape, but I think it won't hold the heat

I am glad I never went through them now. They are some idiots if they recieved it with a oil pan. Common sense send it back with one on

I dont see why that would affect any clearances. However you might as well get it checked out just to be safe, especially if they pay for it. Time to move up to a upgraded girdle!

just get the girdle replaced and make sure after you get them installed, I recommend you get it line bore the main caps specially if you're going to replace it w/ an aftermarket girdle like Golden Eagle one. Most of the time when you another parts that's not original one, the tolerance may change a bit. My .02 cents.

Toss that girdle... get a billet one. There's no fixing it.

Get a Function-7 one.... same thing, just better and cheaper. I got him the nifty CNC machine that makes them. I believe you can find them on Ebay.

Jus get anoher girdle from another gsr block and switch them. You don't need to line bore or anything as the cast aluminum girdle comes off the factory caps...they are jus press fitted with dowel pins similar to the dowel pins inbetween the block and head. The only time you would have to re line-bore would be if you changed the actual main caps...Hope this helps

What Green Gob says is great advice. Just buy a new girdle from honda (you don't need new mains or bolts). No need to align bore as it is just an external brace.
I didn't say this but it looks like you could run it as is, if you were to pull the brace off and smooth it out with a small grinder and polish it smooth. But make fedex pay. Fedex has lost 2 Quaifes for me this month alone.

cody, i would listen to this guy^ he knows what the hell hes talking about. i think he has supplied about half of honda-tech with rod and main bearings. i say run it as is, but make fedex pay you for it anyway
