Broken clutch fork ?????????
I noticed this morning going to work that my car was extremely hard to shift got to work and car would not go into gear at all. I have a Action 2ks clutch with dual finger pressure plate only about 7k miles on it. I Droppped the tranny to see this
UPDATE
I ended replacing the clutch after driving the car about 100 miles I think the action dual finger pressure plate was worn out. I'm using competition clutch now

Re: Broken clutch fork ????????? (Cole D)
happened to me on my d-series setup. I thought it was a bad pressure plate that was causing the car not to shift into gear.
Mine wasn't broken like that though, it had a crack in the main pivot point. It would make sense because as the engine got hotter it expanded the crack, causing the car to get harder and harder to shift.
I think it cracked because i never had a clutch slave boot for along time and I think water would get in there.

most likely just an old rusted part. if stiff pressure plates did that, i would own stock in whomever makes the forks lol

I guess 10-14 yr old shift forks don't stiff pressure plates

More likely to break one with a harder pressure plate, the only times I have seen something like this happen was on stage 2 or 3 pressure plates.

Re: Broken clutch fork ????????? (Cole D)
same thing happened to me while driving a friends car with a stage 5 comp clutch with upgraded PP (very stiff). light turned green, went to put the clutch in and i felt a pop and the clutch stayed on the floor. at first we thought the hydraulic system broke somewhere, but it was the fork that cracked along opening where the hanger thingy sticks out.

someone i know had that problem with the cc stage 5 with upgraded pp as well and they put another in and boxed the inside of the lever with added metal to make it stronger.

Re: Broken clutch fork ????????? (SPOOLINmatt)
It normally happens alot with the heavy duty pressure plates. I had a stage 4 Clutch specialitys look just like that last year. I kinda new what it was and tried to jerk the fork out but it was to bent to come out so i took off my tranny to.. We welded in more material on the new to support it.. Now i just bought a CC stage 5 for my other car and like a dummy forgot to get it welded up so i'll probably pull that 1 out has well.

i have never had that happen to me or any of my customers cars, but i would imagine that an old rusted fork and a stiff pressure plate combined would be the cause.

Re: Broken clutch fork ????????? (integlspwr2k)
that looks like the fork wasn't on all the way and was rubbing the pressure plate...
I have had the part where the ball joint rests crack and start to split open fron high-revving shifts....

Put everything back together and now it works fine. It scared me at first I replaced my clutch master cylinder with the omni quicklutch (I've had for 2 yrs didn't use) well the pedal won't come off the floor and the local mechanic told me my pressure plate was broken turns out all that was needed is to adjust the pedal and rebleed. Thanks for help HT

Ive bent a few on DSM's, talk about a diagnosing biotch.
At first u think its the junk trans, then the clutch, and come to find out its just the fork.

I went through the same thing this past weekend. Mine looks identical to yours. Im running an act clutch w/extreme pressure plate!
I ended replacing the master cylinder, slave, and throwout bearing also.
