Default breaking up?

hey i have a 2000gsr turbo and. i think it could be the spark plug wires.... and i want to see what u guys think.. . when i first turn the car on after like 10sec .. i here like a backfire/poping sound ''.. it pop's/backfire ... then when i drive it . when i go WOT right when i hit 6k it break's up nasty but when i am in 2nd i can rev it past 6k but any other gear it wont go past 6k...... what do u guy's think it could be .... cheep spark plug wires????

what wire are you running? what spark plugs are you running? stock ignition?

i am useing ngk spark plugs .and a MSD Blaster 2 Coil.. idn what kinda of wires i can check later... cuz i am about to go to sleep but... it has the stock ignition.. but the spark plugs wires are old ..

Did you gap your spark plug down?

you might be blowing out spark? im running NGK BKR7E's gapped to .030-.032

try that and see if that helps your situation...

i have a gsR too btw

How are the dizzy cap and rotor old? new? they also can cause break up.

if your plugs are preset to the stock gap, that's way to big for a boosted setup. lower it down to .028 and see if that fixes your issue

if its not the spark plugs i would lean twards fuel detination....? i had a similuar problem getting into v-tech and then it popping really fast and loosing power and its the fuel detoniating?
