Default Which BOV to run.....

Well, I dont really know to much about BOV's but Everyone tells me for high boost and high hp, the tial seems to be the choice to go with, now, i really like the greddy type r and the HKS, are those capable of handling high boost....?? All info greatly appreciated.. Thanks

Jon

how high of boost? if somewhere around 10-15 or so (i know that's not that high...) try for a DSM 1g BOV, they're only like $40, maybe cheaper if you look enough. that's my plan. Also, they can be modded to hold more psi is you need to.

Or, tial is a real good BOV too if you need higher than that.

Just my 2 cents

What about just a simple 7-9psi setup.. I would like to use Tial? But are they only recommended for high boost.. Or can they be used with low boost setups as well?

Tial will work fine for low and high boost.
The Greddy type R is made for major boost, up to 30psi or so.
The HKS is good to at least 20psi. I have heard of small flange leaks from them before due to the 2bolt design but there normally fixable.

Tial is just what everyone has, be smart, be different

My Tial has seen anything from 9psi, to 35psi (on average 17-20psi), and has never given me any real problems... I originally purchased it with the 11 psi spring, and it surged alot at lower boost... I switched it to the 7 psi spring, and it works great, and does exactly what it should....

Blow off valves, not wastegates.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by brickonwheels &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Blow off valves, not wastegates.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Exactly what I was talking about... Read my post again where I said it surged with the 11psi spring... Wastegates dont cause compressor surge

Just to further clarify, Tial blow off valves have different spring options... 7psi, 9psi, and 11psi....
