im looking at getting a greddy bov but which greddy bov is the best??? type-s? type r?? type rs???

There are a lot of threads on this. Just shell out the xtra $50 or so and get a 50mm tial and be done with it. Quality bov and when you get on it it cant even be heard over the roar of you engine. At least not in my car..............

i have a buddy with an evo, and he said that tial bov's take a decent amount of boost to open

Depends on what spring you have in it

If you have the right spring for your setup then you will be good to go

It should be said that it takes a fair amount of vaccum to open, even then though it is spring dependent.

i cut a couple coils off my spring so it opens a little in vacuum at idle..

i've had a Tial and an RFL....although i liked the ricey-ness of the RFL because everyone knows you're boosted, i now have the Tial and like it a lot more.....plus i get less compressor surge...
