Default Which BOV?

I searched this topic till my head was about to explode. 90% were FS posts.

Anyway, i'm buying a turbo kit for my 00 GSR and i wanted to know what's "the best" or the perfferred BOV and why?

Sound is kinda important to me, but i would rather go with performance.

I hear that HKS SS and Tial are pretty much the better ones out there. Is that true?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think that there is such a thing as performance when it comes to BOVs. If they let air out when they are supposed to, then they are performing.

I mean i know they all essentially do the same thing, but everybody seems to pick one over the other. Also, some are better at holding boost than others.

This is what i've gotten from posts in the past:

XS RFL: nice loud ricey sound but leak like a mother...

1g dsm BOV: Great for budget set ups, when crushed it can hold higher psi

Greddy Type S (which i am getting): solid construction, nice sound, similar to the 1g dsm but adjustable

HKS SSQ: bov can recirculate, it is sequential which serves a purpose , has a high pitched whistle and hisses like a snake, sorta sounds like compressor surge

Tial: havent heard much about it but some people say it it sounds like a cracking whip, is it reliable? judging by the quality of their wastegates i would say yes

those are the main players.

I have had all 3 of these BOVs and i love them all:

Greddy Type-S - sounds the best IMO
Tial - Best Quailty! and yes it does sound like the crack of a whip...
Blitz SS - what i have right now...kinda sounds like a mix of both the Greddy and Tial. not great for over 16psi of boost without upgraded spring. so i need to upgrade pretty soon!

i'm sick of everyone suggestion tial , when they haven't even heard it...of used it themselves...
sure they make awesome wastegates, but thats doesn't make their BOVs top notch
someone please post personal review of these bovs for the guy,
i can say my greddy type s stinks
rolling to a stop - its makes this aweful wheezing noise and everyone looks at me strange when doing soo
i've tried to adjust it and it doesn't help
im looking at another bov now

<<Apexi dual chamber BOV...not ricey at all. nice sleeper sound at low boost, nice release at high boost.
