Take two builders..Builder A) Takes the route of H22 Vtec Turbo, builds the thing to over 600 horses, possibly nets 9 second drag times, all due to HARD WORK, building, time, measuring, pricing, hours and hours and hours of wrenching and measuring and tuning to get his beast running right...he's EARNED his numbers!

Then there is builder B..who does a moderate build with say an LS/TURBO..but he's dumping a 200 Shot, multi direct port wet injection system into a build that probably puts out say 200whp without it...does this not come across as like...Cheating to you?

At the end of the day I'd have to respect the guy who said.."look, i'm not doing the bottle.." and slaved, and worked, and stacked his chips and did the man hours once he got the parts to make his car fast without it.

A friend of mine has an ill quote I like to say when I'm dealing with Nitrous guys..he always says, "You bottle *********az sicken me..with your buttons and purging. YOu wanna know what's my nitrous? The next gear *********a..feel my blow off valve.."

who races to 5th gear? what kind of street race was this a mile run?

Lol, next time just say total of 5 runs.... That will shut most BIG nitrous setups the f*** up. If they run low, they will bog big-time or be nothing but an NA motor.

It's not cheating, as nitrous has many obstacles to overcome when going big. It also has the nasty tendency to put the most gains where you don't want it - far away from redline. 3 years ago someone posted a dyno mishap with a b20/v nitrous setup - somehow it was activated at 2500rpm, and it survived - with a 540lb/ft dyno number. That's also what my friend's LS1 put out for torque on nitrous, until his nitrous malfunctioned and spun 3 main bearings at 1500rpm... Now he has a T76 in it, and loooves it. He spools before he used to hit the nitrous, and has more power overall.

First of all, who runs 5 times in a row? lol
Second of all, I bet the nitrous didn't cause the bearing problem. It was probably a lack of fuel or an improperly setup kit.

I'm saying 5 runs so he'd run out of nitrous. As for a **** setup, not really. It was just tons of nitrious (200 shot) at a crazy-low rpm. A 200 shot at 1500rpm will be like a 400 shot at 3k rpm due to it not being staged. I think he said his motor was doing high 400's w/o spray, so do a bit of math. His STOCK pistons & rods were actually fine - they were the only oem parts kept.

Spraying is whats up. I dissagree with anybody saying its cheating because its not, anybody can run it and its easy power. Its just somthing different from what alot of people do.

Wow it sucks that someone would consider something that makes additional power as cheating. Yea maybe if I raced someone and told them I was stock or not shooting then it would be cheating. Other than that it's all fair game.

The reason I decided to go with nitrous is because I can use it when I want. Its not something that has to always be functioning like a turbo or supercharger.

thats were your wrong, a turbo wont make power till your in boost, you can cruise around just fine like a na motor. but nitrous is cool cause you can run stock injectors for the best mpg and just run the fuel through a jet.

Back in '93, people used to say a turbo on a NA motor was cheating. Get over it. People are gonna do what they can to get the power they want. Don't be pissy cuz you spend $800+ on I/H/E and get smoked by a $250 gas kit on a bone stock whatever. Besides, if you turbo your ride, you have a button too. It's your gas pedal.

I enjoy boost because it's always there. It's not a bottle I have to go get filled like a little baby does.

There is only one way to make power oxygen + fuel does it matter how you get the oxygen in there weather it be chemical, forced induction, or a set of big cams. Just because it is one of the easiest ways and most cost efficient you cant call it cheating.

Essentially you're referring to a street car, or a "test and tune," car. In which case there is no governing body or rule to limit anyones setup, thus it's impossible to "cheat." Quit whining.

If infact you're referring to a track built car designed for class competition file a protest with the class admins, they'll promptly sort out who's cheating and who isn't. If nothing else you'll find out which of you has more friends.

either way I agree about nitrous whiners being pissed getting their dick thumped and holding a grudge. It's not as if nitrous setups are only availible to a select few. Go buy a kit. If you'd rather go all motor more power to you, just realized most any kid with a swap and a small shot will put the panties on you.

When did the automotive community turn into such purse slappers?

Gotta love the AK-47 anti-lag!!!

Too many people run too big of a turbo. One of the guys at the shop I work at has a RHD ITR boosting 8 lbs. He's at full boost by 3k rpm's. Since he launches at 4k, he's pretty much always in boost.

I feel just like the OP, Around Birmingham, Alabama the cars(well Hondas) that are equipped with nitrous are just beat to ****!!! no money or research involved, not enthusiasts, always buying used parts that you shouldnt buy used(ex. flywheels for their set-ups, axles, etc etc) I wouldnt dare buy a used axle that im gonna put on my car and spray it. Lets all come down off our high stoops, I ran a bottle because i wanted quick power, but my car didnt have a dime invested in it, now that I have a better insight on Honda's, nitrous is for beginners on the street, id rather have a well rounded car paint, suspension,hp,interior etc now than when I first started... but its a choice and ppl can make them anytime they feel..

Nothing wrong with a budget build. Google "24 hours of lemons".

That's not an ill quote.

Doing 144 on public roads is pretty stupid.
