Default Bosch 044???

Hi.
I am using walbro 255 HP in tank fuel pump and i am thinking to install about Bosch 044. I spoke with my mechanic but said me that 044 is crap. It dissipate a lot of heat, and he know about many 044 failures. He said me to install another walbro because the bosch is crap.
He had 2 failures on Evo 8 rally car (040 in tank and 044 in line), they switched to walbro in tank and no problems a whole racing season. Other failure was on audi TT and many on our local drag racers. He said me that he tried a differen 044 suppliers - 2 locals, 1 from Italy, from The USA wihout success.
Is the bosch 044 reliable or walbro is much better?

I think your mechanic is trying to push you toward what he sells maybe, can get easily, or maybe bought some knock off Bosch pumps... cause the real Bosch 044 pumps are quite reliable from everything I have read.

I am sure others will chime it but I know I have heard of any failures from anyone I know running them.

Running twin 044's here, and on many cars I tune as well.. Never a problem. The Hasbro pump is another story.

0 580 254 044

They came stock on some Porsches, from what I've heard, 930 Turbo, and someone mentioned they also came in the Cayman S and another model.
