Not a good turbo choice,
Has a big turbine side, will be a lag monster, dont expect boost until your almost out of rev's.
You need a different turbo.

Compared to what?
Looks mean nothing, its all about the specs
I actually cant find the specs anywhere atm, but I do believe the compressor is roughly equivilent to a to4B s trim and the turbine is like a .78 a/r t4...which is huge, great for a 6.5 liter diesel, and a super lag monster on a honda motor.
If your on a budget, just sell that thing on ebay, and pick up a used holset hx35 or hy35, much more sensible choice

If your determined to try it then just do it.
You don't need someone who has actually used one to tell you that the turbine is huge and spool is going to suck

Re: borg warner gm-1
The gm1-8 turbos all share the same turbine wheel and compressor wheel as far as size (inducer/exducer of both wheels), what differs between them is the housing (both compressor and turbine) design and size, most Honda guys use the gm5-8 due to the design of the housings, as some of the gm-x series have weird compressor and turbine housings that would be hard to use
Do you have any pictures of the actual turbo you are using? Iirc the gm-1 has very small housings overall

Here's a good read on the IHI Rhc6/GM-X series
All the info you need
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newb...6-5-chevy.html
The entire Gmx line flows a little over 40lb/min, something like 45ish
The hardest thing will be making a downpipe, since you'll need someone to cut a flange based off the turbine exit gasket and then go from there, it's a very unusual shape and will require clever fabrication
However I feel if the price is right for the turbo, use it. It will be a decent 350-375hp producing turbo.

Re: borg warner gm-1
It will work well, I have used many used OEM turbos before on various builds.
The gm1-8 series can all best be related to by a Garrett t04e 57trim unit, similar wheel profiles and flows, same overall footprint size and t04e "style" compressor cover. However the turbine housing has a funky outlet flange.
