bore size

Default bore size

what is a reasonable bore size? im shipping a b18a off to golden eagle after xmas(holiday season putting a damper on car funds) i want at least 300 hp and plan on boosting to about 20 psi. i was planning on something around 84mm-85mm, anybody with a setup like this that has any advice? thank you in advance

i recommend 84mm. So then if you blow it up, you can bore it to 84.5. If you blow that up, you can bore to 85mm.

Golden Eagled recommended it like that to me...makes sense.

I just blew up a motor that went to 84.5 mm on the sleeves last time around.
At 85 mm the sleeves are too thin for boost. Too bad the previous owner didn't start at 81mm. $800-$1000 for resleeving is no joke. By the way my cousin made 462 whp on a 81.5 mm b16 tuned by St00pid. You don't have to go big bore to make big power with boost.
