My buddy boosted an HX way back in '98 or '99. He ran 12psi non-intercooled and that thing hauled ***.(untill he turned it up to 14psi and blew it up)
Don't quote me on this but I believe the HX has a little lower compression then the EX, and obviously a different head too I'm sure.

I ran a home made turbo kit on my HX motor with a T-25 turbo, Starion intercooler, 2.5" downpipe, HKS bov, 12:1 FMU + Inline pump. At the dyno I made 163whp/165tq @ 8-9psi and ran a 13.7@101mph on 205/50R-14 Nitto NT555R drag radials. The HX head actually has a bigger cam than the EX head when its not in economy mode, it also has roller rockers. The compression on the HX is a lower 9.4:1 as opposed to the EX's 9.6:1. The HX motor also has some other extras like a 5 wire primary o2 sensor. The transmission has longer gearing than the EX transmission too. I personally believe the HX motor makes more power than the EX motor and the only reason honda claimed the HX motor made only 115bhp was because they wanted to market more of the more expensive EX models. I ran a 15.6@86 when my HX motor was n/a with just a AEM cold air intake and a 5zigen axel back muffler no a/c, no p/s on the stock wheels/tires.
