Default Boosting an H22?

Ive heard some nasty rumors about boosting H22s and have a buddy who is debating it. Ive heard the blow apart and absolutly hate boost. Are these rumors true? Or are the people ive heard these rumors from just not experienced wit cars enough to know how to properly build one? How much boost can you push on a stock jdm motor with a good tune?

give it enough time any motor is going to "fail" the ringlands are the weakeast link on the h22. one care i helped build, has been driving around for 2 years at 267 hp w/ 230 torque on a turbonetics kit, tuned on neptune, with no problems. both my boosted h series outlived my interested in them, i parted out the first one, and i am still driving the car with the same motor in it, and hte second one i sold it to buy a better turbo kit.

Its true you can't boost H22s. At 1 psi the pistons explode and the crankshaft melts. The only way to fix this problem is to sleeve your pistons.

I know your being sarcastic but do you really need to sleeve it if you want to run like 15psi? couldnt you do some pistons like 10:1 or 9:1 and forge the bottom end and use a block guard? or is sleeveing a must in H22s?

Ok how would this build hold up....

JE pistons (what compression would you recomend?)
Eagle H-beam rods with ARP rod studs
ACL bearings
Golden Eagle block guard
(this is just the block work it would have all other supporting mods)

would this with a proper tune be able to handle around 15 psi? i have basically the same setup in my b18b coupe and its capable of 20psi.

all i really want to know is sleeving needed to run over 10psi or would a block guard work for 15psi?

10.2 @ 145

It could last one day or could last for years. Depends on the brains of who puts it together and tunes it. Same story for pretty much any buildup
