Default boosting B18C5??

hey guys,

i have a few question before i go turbo. the motor is a stock B18C5 with a GSR tranny(non LSD). a fews weeks back the motor crap out on me, a thrustwasher snap(#1 cylinder). so the motor is all a part waiting for all new main crank bearings, conn rods bearings and all the thrust washers . the head is going to stay stock until i save up more cash for the full internal build mostly like next spring. so it the best time for me to install new parts in the block now to save on labor.

so here is the questions i have now and it hard for me to deice on and i want to it RIGHT the first time around to same money on labor. the car is my only car and i been car pooling to work for the pass 2 weeks. any help is greatly appreicated. TIA

1. bore out the stock block to 84.5mm sleeve it and use JE pistons and eagle RODS or go with the DART(b18) block that already bore out and sleeve and use my stock crank shaft with the parts mention above?

2. just get the new piston and rods now and get it to run, then boost during winter?

3. keep it stock the whole motor stock and get it running and save more cash to do the whole thing at once?

what would you do and how would you go about doing it?
cash is limitted right now to 1K
my goal is to get 350-400 whp safely, the car is my DD.

If your cash is limited to $1k, good luck doing anything worthwhile. Sure it would be fun to sleeve and build the engine, but do you realize what that's going to cost? If you want a good setup and a stout engine, you're looking at upwards of $8k.

Also, if you're going to sleeve it, dont bore it to 84.5mm the first time...leave a little error room....go for an 83mm or so because if you screw up an 84.5mm bad enough, you have to completely re-sleeve it.
