Default Boosted Si in the works

I was recommended to come here and get some adivce on my current project.
I drive a 1999 Honda Civic Si.
current mods are basic bolt ons AEM Coldair, dc sport header and catback, high flow cat, and a venom 400 module.
I am looking into boosting my car. I have asked a few boosted Si owners for their help.
I am looking to make around 300whp. From what I am told I should be able to do this on stock engine with proper tuning.
I am looking at Hondata for my engine management.
Was looking at the Greddy 18g kit but was told my most that a better idea would to put together my own kit, that way I have everything I want.
I know with poor tuning, among other things, I could easily blow my car up. As you can imagine this is not something I want to do so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kyle

First, sell all your current mods. Next, piece together a custom kit, 3 inch exhaust, larger injectors and some kind of standalone management. And finally, tune everything. Then you'll be happy.

Well I had planned on getting rid of some of them.
I was planning on getting a 3" exhaust.
The venom thing was on my car when purchased so I just never bothered with taking it off.
I figure I can still use the CAI.
The way I figure 300whp should be good for low 13's, possibly 12's if I can somehow get traction. Am I correct in this assumtion?

well, I managed to make 325-ish whp on a stock b16, (confirmed 300whp on a MD dyno, which ususally rate lower than a dynojet, but Im running more boost now) and that is with a 3" dump exhaust, and race gas. (meaning no exhaust)

Its not to say that you cant do it, but I doubt that it will happen with a greddy kit.

Don't go with greddy, if you want those number's. You'll have to upgrade too many parts. Get good fuel Management, hondata/AEM/any of the other's, and a decent turbo setup. If you don't want piece together a kit, I'd go with a Max Rev kit, plus 550 injectors.

if you have plenty of cash go http://www.full-race.com great kit, worth the price, but not all can afford.

If you give a budget, we can help you more.

Ok I am looking at a budget of around 7k...maybe a bit more..and thats EVERYTHING...
I looked at cybernationmotorsports.com...there kit looks ok cause it comes with so much( I was looking at their stage 2 kit) but it's also pricey.
I don't think I am going with greddy ...alot of people seem agianst it...
I think I will get the block sleeved and new pistons and rods(rods and pistons come with cybernation kit if i got that)
thicker head gasket too....
Good idea? Bad idea...thanks guys

how did u figure you can still use the CAI once you have a turbo? like everyone said make sure you have a good fuel management and get it tuned properly and your goal won't be difficult.

I never hear of there kit, so I can't comment, but becareful when a deal seems to good.

My Si kit is custom and not installed yet but my plans are:
Max Rev Manifold & DP
Tial Waste Gate
Blitz BOV
RC 550 injectors
T3/T4 garret turbo (if I didn't get a deal on it, would have gone precision)
Greddy type 24 I/C
and AEM EMS

This combo should make 250hp easily on stock block. If you add Piston and rods 350hp would be possible. With Sleeving you can go higher. I personally put the money for Piston and Rods into the EMS. (my budget was quite a bit less about 3,500 total with tuning) I did get some used parts.

If I was sleeving my motor and doing pistons I would be over 7,000.

I would get 83 mil bore w/ GE, Darton, or Beson sleeves
CP Pistons or Full Race w/ Full-race rods, or Crower's
Full Race Turbo Kit or custom w/ SC61 turbo
Large injectors like 880's
AEM EMS

I don't know the full cost of all this. I personally feel if you are going to the length of sleeving the block, I would personally get the best products I can, because once you sleeve, you have the potential to really turn up the boost.

Thanks for the info.

I don't think I am going to get it sleeved because I really do not plan on pushing over 300whp really.
I am going to do pistons and rods.
Where can I go to see precision's turbos. Everyone tells me about them buy I havn't seen them anywhere. What trim should I go with to make my 300WHP?
I was going to go with hondata for my tuning.
With 7k I should be able to get the kit, pistons and rods, have them installed, and get it all tuned with ease correct?
Also could someone provide me with a detailed list on everything I need? That would be awsome.
Thanks agian

you are planning on putting a turbo on right? if you are then the turbo will be pumpin air into the intake manifold, the intake you currently have will be replaced with a compression pipe going to the turbo. so where were you planning on putting that CAI?? now if you went with a JRSC you could keep the CAI.

2 questions

1.Where can I find a good 3inch catback, downpipe.etc.

2.Can someone post a list of everything I need for the turbo kit? A parts list if you will....

Thanks
