Default boosted ITR?

ok so heres the thing.. i was told to come over here by Schister66 bc i posted that i wanted to boost my ITR motor..

The thing is.. i want to boost my ITR motor but have alot of questions about it.. i know that the ITR motor is high comp. great canadate for NA setups.. but now where is the fun in that?? (Plus the sound of a BOV is just unforgettable)
Schister66 told me that i could run a thicker HG and boost to around 6 PSI on it.. with a small turbo that spools quick.. which is perfect for me bc i want boost at lower RPMS.
but would i be able to run 6 psi on this motor with just headstuds and no motor work? how much boost can the stock internals run?
the ITr motor is a Obd 2 correct? well im not too concerned about it as i plan on pulling the ECU out of the car that runs it now. but my car (94 del sol S) is OBD 1.. what would i need to do to make it run in this car? i know its proably going to be Alot of work.. but eh who cares itll be fun and a learning proc..

next thing is.. i have asked myself what do i want with this car.. street car or race car.. answer is.. both.. the ITR makes 195 HP at 7800 RPMs.. put 6 psi on it and that would be. roughly 255 HP right? and it would still retain the streetable drive out of boost no? not driving around town under full boost.. im now looking to make a full track car.. but something that will be fun to drive around and surpise people.
next question is i know Exaust dia play a major role in it.. i would have to run 3" pipeing right?? i like the tone of a evo 2 exaust but that to small dia piping.. what exaust would you guys reccomend? (what do you run?)

and im completly new to turbo.. but have worked on few that have been boosted (im a body man by trade) and i hear my buddy talking about blowing charge pipes.. and running open dump tubes.. what are they talking about?? i know that sounds bad.. but im trying to ask everything to get this all figured out..

what turbo would be good to run? wastegate?
if you guys can think of anything to add please do.. what i want is a good streetable track car. that i can drive around to go get GF or.. do random things from day to day..

and another thing i was thinking about would be runnin E-85 as it has higher octane rating.. (and will be getting cheaper) what would i need to run that?
i know to run boost i neeed larger injectors.. and bigger fuel pump and maybe a new map sensor.. but what am i forgettin

True

Not true. I never suggested a thicker headgasket because the stock compression is fine for a boosted application; however, it limits power potential on pump gas (fuel grade). Also, as many of you know, i would never suggest anything in terms of PSI as it doesn't really matter for much. I would have given you a power goal instead. Your ITR with the correct fuel grade, setup and tune should be capable of 300-325whp safely.

im sorry about that. he did not tell me that.. i went threw my old post to quickly and got names mixed up.. late in the night.. and im sorry for that.
but you are saying that my ITR running 91 octane pump gas boosted with a good tune should be making roughly 300 whp? i was thinking more like 255 whp.
and would it hurt to run a thicker head gasket?? what turbo could i run that would spool quickly?

shcisisters right I seen quite a bit of boosted type r making mid threes in horse power since like 2005 and theyre still around. you will be fine with a good tune and the right gas and not believeing all the bullshit about compresion is too high and so on you will be fine .

IMO that turbo is too large for a stock block build, but it will work. There are better suited turbos out there..

It's not the PSI, its the power and CFM of the turbo. 10psi on 1 turbo is different than 10psi on another of a different size.

He just said that one was too small, to go garrets website and look at some compression maps to find a turbo you want after you look at the FI stickys at the top of the page.

I dont want to offend you because you might know a lot but, your asking some basic questions that could be answered by reading..

I'll save you a little time and suggest a 57 trim. You could also PM TheShodan because i know he has a lot of good turbos to offer
