Just wondering how this setup sounds. I'm looking to reach at least 400whp. I will be racing it quite a bit at the drags. I know sleeving the block would be better, but I really am considering this build. I just has some concern over the 10:1 compression with the pistons...is that too high. The car will be running at lower boost as my dd, but will turn up the boost for the track. Any thoughts besides "you should sleeve the block"...thanks. And I have read through the entire Mahle thread and haven't really seen a lot of negative feedback, that's another reason why I am considering this build.
So what is the set up? I guess you will be running Mahle pistons since you mentioned them, but that is the only thing you mentioned. What else will you be using?

You definetly will be able to reach that goal of 400whp. However, keep in mind that our sleeves are not the best for boost, so a good tune will be necessary to keep that motor alive.

the mahle pistons are good i ran the golds for a awhile i finally sleeved the block but i used the sleeved version from mahle, i would just save some money get it sleeved so your done and have the peice of mind i got mine sleeved from jg for 850 maybe get hondata get a good tune, up the boost a little and wait i know it sucks but its worth it your gona have all that money in it you dont want any thing to happen.
You should be fine. Run the 9:1s if you want added insurance for running pump gas. You won't loose anything by dropping the CR. FRM (H22) sleeves can take as much stress as iron sleeves. The big concern for an H22 is the ring lands on a stock piston. It's important to have someone do the work (honing) on the H22, that knows what they are doing with FRM sleeves and that they have the proper hones. The cylinders should look smooth and not crosshatched when they are completed.

That 15whp could have been made up with about 2-3psi more on the 9:1 setup.
H22 sleeves are far stronger than Bseries sleeves. You shouldn't have to worry about them only running 400whp. Keep in mind you can also run .125wall (stock .093wall) repair sleeves for a little more strength and the ability to run what ever forged piston you want.
