Default Boosted B18B or D16?

Thinkin and searchin lately on the idea of either boostin my d16...(has 140k on it, doesn't burn any oil, compression is 160 across the board and runs good. All it needs is a new head gasket, valve seals and maybe some ARP's.)...or buying a B18B and boosting that. The way i see it is either boost what i already have or buy a LS and boost that for the lil more displacement, more power all aroundand newer shape. I could sell the D16 and buy a LS for not too much at all, most likely for the price of all the **** the D16 needs.

So what would you boost guru's boost?

LS-T or D16-T
Thanks guys

Seems to be pretty even so far, riddle me this...
which motor tuned correctly, both having the same turbo kit, same amount boost, will out perform one another, last longer?

I am not boosting to learn about boost. Me and my buddies know quite a bit about boosting, after having my buddies GSR-T, my WRX, and GST...boost ins't a new thing for me. I am looking for reliability, and I know tuning has a great part in that but so does the motor itslef.
I can only imagine the strength difference between the D series and B series...
Thanks for the replies, keep em commin!

100 more whp possible out of the B18B longblock *in my opinion*.

The D-Series connecting rods are like pencils. I wouldn't trust them personally.

it depends

ls runs around a grand (you installing it)
d series free (already in car)

b series turbo kit around 2000 if your lucky
d series turbo kit 2000 (nice kit)

tuning
hondata 500
uberdata 200

plus around400-500 for tuning

now if you sold the d series for atmost 500 youd still need 500 for the ls, why not take that 500 extra and use vitara pistons and eagle rods and have a rebuilt motor that can handle 15 lbs of boost?

with the money youd be spending on ls and turbo kit you could build the d series and whoop all over the stock ls

it all depends on if you want to have a great running car with not too much more room to build on or if you want an ls which is an excellent platform to build up on if you choose to later on

either way boost will be fun with either motor
