Default boost type R stock block

I bought a dc2 teg with 00' usdm integra type R engine with b16 tranny.....I want to boost with stock block without changing the pistons etc. I just want a streetable turbocharged engine for daily driver and track.

I know many that build turbocharge engine, they usually put low c/r pistons. What do you think and view about boosting a stock type R engine ? Has anyone done that set up before ? I have been told that, I would get between 350 - 400 whp. safe and reliable for d.d.

I know there s a complete turbocharger kit for some K series with high c/r that will gain some decent hp and tq. So I thought it would be the same pattern as integra type R engine with high c/r .

It should be fine as long as you motor is healthy and you get it tuned by someone respectable. I would shoot for 300ish whp on less then 10psi

Thats all you really need to know... 350-400whp on a stock type R block is gonna be like driving a time bomb... and you will never know when its gonna blow...

Like Rob said,, Aim for high 200s... 325whp max and drive the car knowing that its SHOULD hold together... that goal is easily attainable if your tuner is good at what he does...

If you get supporting mods... That will make it even easier to reach that goal...

Intake manifold
throttlebody
upgraded cam
Top of the line Turbo mani

I made 293whp@8psi.. been driving it for over 3 years now, tuned by me on mustang dyno..
Only things I changed were the headstuds and went with .030 cometic head gasket.

You should be just fine on 8lbs or so, i wouldnt really go above that. Like they have said previously it really depends on your tuner...... i have known ppl to run 24lbs on a stock b18c and get like 450-475 but it all depends on how long you want to keep your motor for!!

I would get some arp headstuds and use a cometic head gasket. Cometic sells custom thick headgaskets so it will lower your compression a bit and you would be a little safer.
Its all in the tune though. Make sure you get a good tune.

inline pro is the best head gasket to use. I made 300ish whp years ago on the stock motor with that head gasket and 17psi on a little greddy turbo.

you dont need a intake mani or tb I am still on stock ITR stuff well over 500whp

YOu siad your using all STOCK ITR stuff, so i am assuming internals as well.....how many lbs are you running to reach those numbers?

All stock just bolt on turbo kit?

NO NO. I am on stock ITR IM, TB, tranny, and cams. thats it.

I did 300whp on stock ITR internals with a head gasket from inline pro. that was on a greddy kit tuned on a vafc, FMU and 450's then later on hondata and 880's.

My set up now is a 84mm sleeved block, built head, custom kit, etc
