Boost question for those with experience.
I just got my car boosted. I have a stock GSR motor and I just turbo'd it with a Precision t3/t4 turbo. I just got it dynoed using 9-10 lbs of boost and I made 260hp to the wheels and 191 torque. Hondata tuned.
My car is an every day driver so if my motor blows, then that's it. So needless to say, I need my car. I probably won't have money to build the bottom end until about 1 or 1 1/2yr. from now. My car ****** rips at 9-10lbs. but the fact that I have running car is more important to me than anything else. So....
-- #1 - Now my question is.... What's the possibility of my motor blowing up if I
keep it at 9-10lbs of boost vs. lowering it to like 7lbs of boost or lower??
And yes, it is Hondata tuned.

8,lbs of boost??

Depends on the tune. 1psi could be more dangerous than 9psi if not tuned right. But you should be fine at 9psi. It really all depends on if you beat the **** out of your car. Just be gentle, don't cruise at like 7000rpm. Don't cruise at 9psi haha. Don't do like pull after pull after pull after pull. Maintanance is key.

6.7 is the safest......it's pretty obvious
8 is safer then 9...7 is safer then 8.......6 is safer then 7. Your tune should be the key...if you r making only 260whp you'll be fine if you kinda beat on it. Get a dual stage Boost controoler or a profec Stage 2 if you want like 6lbs daily and 9-10 for just racing. That'll kepp the everyday stress on the engine down . For that power, tuned correctly, should last a long time

its only a matter of time for the ring lands to go on you..... less is better...no boost is safest if you cant afford a rebuild..its really a hit and miss....how's that saying go....gotta pay to play

Boosting GSR
Thanks to all for your responses. Well, last night I turned down the boost from 9-10lbs of boost to 7lbs. of boost. I'll probably turned it down one more notch to 6lbs. because I want my engine to last me until I have the money for a rebuild. I appreciate your responses. Even though it's tuned I still want to be safe.
Other than that, I really like my turbo and the way it feels when it pulls. . I have now joined the dark side, hehehe!
