boost problem

Default boost problem

ok i have a built b18b block fully built b16 head ...bla bla bla ...etc..my turbo set up is a drag manifold tail waste gate s300 etc..the turbo is a bull$h*t turbo but brand new its a ar/70 intake and a ar/85 exaust ..what could be the reason that it doesnt produce boost ...the turbo will only make 5 pounds nothing more.tryed running on just the gate 10 pound spring wont go passed 5 ..no vac leaks ..boost controller is daul stage and brand new ..what could be the problem ...turbo or motor..thanks...

I suggest getting a map for your turbo and checking your BSFC and doing the math to see what your main problem, sounds like too big to me. Try adding a 60 shop, it will spool.

i would think it was the turbo ar/85 exaust i think is way to big i was thinking my self go with a ar/70 intake and a ar/60 exaust ...i dunno never had this problem before anything else it could be...

he menas get a flow map of the turbo and find what rpm range it fully spools up in. I think the turbine might be too big and requires more exhaust gas to flow properly(ex. probably a turbo meant for a supra or 6 cylinder vehicle).
