Default Boost Gauge Install: Ferrules confuse me

Ive been trying to figure out these directions for my Autometer boost gauge, and the ferrule thing is confusing me.

On the directions, it looks like the ferrule is those two cone things (B) put together, but if i do that, the sealing nut (C) does not reach the adapter (A). do i just use one of the cones, and crank it down real tight so it compresses the tube? or am i missing something...

thanks

Ok use A on the gauge, and on the plastic tube put c followed by b and then tighten down to a.

You're missing peices. The ferrule that is pictured in the directions is what it should look like. You should have found it inside the connector thingy when you took it apart. If not, then you are missing it. It slides right over the plastic tube as pictured.

Hope you find it-- g'luck

Matt

u will use "a" mounted to the back of the gauge, then slip "c" over the tube, and then put 1 of the cone things "b" over the tube in so it will sandwich in between "a" and "c"... put the smaller end of the cone towards "a"... and then tighten up "c" ... u should be good to go...

yes, it worked!
i put one wrench on A and turned C with another wrench until it was nice and tight
the vacuum line is firmly stuck in there

u will have to tighten it a bit... putting the smaller end of the cone towards "a" will cause the smaller end to crush in on the tube, which will lock the tube in place... if u get it properly tightened u shouldnt be able to pull the tube out...
