How much could the stock D16a6 pistons hold? would 250whp w/ aftermarket rods work w/ tuning. Just dont wanna put rods in and crank up the boost and have a piston fail. thanks if any can help. I know its veige question, just wanted to know if It would work realistacly

 

It's a toss up. If you can control detonation (i.e. perfect tuning), then the rods will be your weak point. The low 200's are their max limit IMHO. I know, there are a few stong engines out there that might take more, but I'm thinking realistically. If you don't have a standalone EMS than you'll probably detonate and destroy the stock cast pistons (and rods) at 250whp in a heartbeat.

If you're going to put in rods...just put in pistons too.
