Boost creep: wastegate piping question.
Hi all
Iv got a few boost creep issues. Running a stock b18c1, race-tech equal length top mount mani (with correctly positioned 38mm wastgate port- unlike ebay ****), bullseye s256, 3 inch downpipe and exhaust, tial 38mm @ 0.8 bar, 2.5" inch piping and intercooler of adequate size etc...rc 750's and mapped on crome gold. Just to give u a basic setup idea.
The problem is after 6000 revs i cant get it to hold boost. It climbs to 1.5 bar and i hit my safety boosty cut (thank god) even tho i can hear the wastegate is open via screamer pipe. I am using 4mm plastic nylon air hose for the feed to the bottom port on wastegate. The other end of the hose is piped into the inlet manifold. I am wondering if the bore size of the pipe is my problem, delaying its response and causing the creep. Any ideas, suggestions would be really appreciated. I dont really wanna run a 44mm only to get same issue or worse still be wasting money. Iv searched but cant find any rules as to pipe size to run etc..
thankyou for any help, Marc
