I plan to get a .7 Bar Tial 40mm W.G., I will be selling my 35mm this week. As for a built engine being to noisy that is ridiculous. Jdogg you know that all that is necessary is to first "listen" to the engine and create a knock noise table, then assign fuel and ignition modifiers for anything above those normal sounds of the engine. It just takes a lot of time, something unfortunately too many people aren't willing to give to their cars, and thus people miss out on potential safeties such as knock control. My knock control is set up, and safely, with time spent "listening" to the engine first to determine "normal noise." I will however watch my logs the next time I have creep issues if I ever do and I will get back to you on whether or not that is the problem. I appreciate the heads up.

x-tal: The wastegate is met at the collector NOT just one runner. I personally enlarged the hole for the maximum amount of easy flow from the collector to the wastegate, I believe that the 35mm just isn't large enough to keep boost down to 15 psi under certain conditions. Unfortunately I haven't defined these conditions yet, hopefully the 40mm will fix my problem and allow me to hold even lower boost levels in first gear!
Another problem is that I plan to upgrade to a seriously expensive Innovative BB turbo this summmer and w/ the efficiency of that turbo I am worried about it overcoming even the 40mm gate at low boost levels. We will have to see.

Whew.... that was a long post!

jdogg- what boost levels are you running without creep with that 46mm gate?

Also, there was a post in Supraforums.com by a tuner about how whenever he would make the car richer than say 11.5:1 (my car sometimes runs as rich as 10.8:1 under boost, but I have yet to verify if this happened on the rare occurences that I had huge boost creep, and my car is down so I won't get to find out for a while) it would boost creep if ran richer than around 11.5:1. Here is the link if you guys care: http://www.supraforums.com/for...p+kit

Has anyone else experienced this?

we dont have any creep w/the 46mm, we did with the 38mm.

the civic's noise is inconsistent. i know how to setup knock and for most of the cars i do we do setup the knock control. this motor has seemingly random noise from the knock sensor. hell w/the 46mm wg i can tell you when it opens and closes from the noise on the knock sensor, i can tell you when vtec comes in and i can tell you when the motor finaly warms up b/c of the noise on the knock sensor. its to eratic to use for feedback.

the richer you run the more stuff that comes out the exhaust so i can see how it would create creeping issues. thats what we do when we goto the track, pull a few deg timing and add a little fuel to the map in the low boost area's where the 2step is so it builds boost at the line and spools up quicker. just have to watch the egt's when doing that...
