Boost creep issues? Wastegate
I took my car out last weekend and keep having boost cut issues on high boost set at ~14.7 . The engine backfires and cuts out in to limp mode, then shuts off. I had trouble restarting but it eventually came back after 2-3 attempts.
I change the boost setting to low on the boost controller, which is supposed to be set at about 8psi, but on OWT, in 4th, the boost guage is reading 1 BAR. No boost cut on low setting. I’m still running that Turbornetics Deltagate. Could that be the problem? I didn’t observe the guage on high boost (~14.7psi) to see what it was reading at OWT,…
I understand the Deltagate is known to have boost creep issues, but is it that bad on higher boost settings?
I'm planning to dyno at MAP again in a few weeks and tune to 12psi/18psi and set the boost controller settings, but I can't dyno with out getting these issues resolved.
I've already spoken to Jordan @ MAP about it, but how many of you have experienced boost creep issues?

disconnect the bosot controller and see if you still get creep. could be the settings on the ebc causing creep. also check all vacuum lines. what manifold and turbo are you using?

well, i don't necessarily have to disconnect, i can just turn off the boost controller, but i didn't do that either. I'll have to try it this weekend when I have time. We didn't have any boost creep on the dyno. Vacuum lines are fine, if it were pinched the guage wouldn't be reading higher than what it was supposed to be.
I'll have to hook up my laptop to the Hondata s300 and see what the MAP is reading.
It's a tubular top mount manifold with a small t3/t04e 50trim turbo. the Deltagate wastegate was from a used Drag setup i acquired. 3" dp to 3" flex to 2.5 piping/Apex N1 resinator and canister. No CAT.

no disconect the ebc solenoid completely and just run a vacuum line to the wg... see if it creeps. if you have access to a mbc then use that to turn the boost up to 14ish and see if it creeps... if it doesnt then its your profec. those controllers are somewhat complicated with the duty and target press. they have to be x amount apart from each other or it will spool slow or creep

slow spool is no issue (right around 2400rpm). it's the creep I'm worried about, but I'll turn it off first, and if that still doesn't work I'll connect the vacuum directly to the wg.

Re: Boost creep issues? Wastegate
is the adjusting nut on the top of the gate in farther than it should be?
checking with no ebc should show what the base of the wastegate is.
