Boost controller settings...Linear boost or no?

Boost controller settings...Linear boost or no?
Ok,
im trying to figure out which will have the best results/power/feel for my turbo set up.
I'll be running my AVCR and around 9-10psi.
would it be best to set my boost to come on linear as in from 2000RPMS to 8000RPMS set the boost at 10psi
OR
Would it be better to have the boost build? for instance at 2krpms have it at 3psi then jump to 5 then to 10 throughout the rev-range?
you get the idea?
