which boost controller to go with? e-01, aem boost guage/controller 2in1
so im gettin together newer parts for my car so i can re-tune it with a better turbo, i will also be using a boost controller this time so i can up the boost for track times and drive as a DD on low boost. i have a greddy e-01 boost controller that i got from a cousin who had no use for it.. its the whole screen thing but missin the lil control for it.. should i invest 100 bucks for the controller and get it put in my car? or shuld i go with the aem boost guage/controller 2in1 guage? its for a 00 b16 built bottom end and currently using s200.. will i be able to use the greddy e-01 along wit hondata? not sure bout all this

you can control boost with hondata from what i've heard.
otherwise, just go with a manual boost controller. electronic ones are ****. ask anyone. you'll get the same responses on greddy profec b, etc etc.
i'd say get a voodoo manual boost controller and you'll be set.

that's so expensive though.
just remember, all boost controllers do the same thing - control boost.. as long as it isn't cheap ebay ****, a manual boost controller imo is way better than an electronic controller. a voodoo manual boost controller will be more than enough. i haven't had any problems with mine for leaks and whatnot, and as long as you have a boost gauge you should be okay.
but to each his own. if you got the $ to spend then just do it if you want. i've given you my opinion and hopefully someone else will chime in and say manuals are better and maybe you'll save some cash.
good luck with the decision .

i am runnin the s200 in my b16 setup...i'm runnin an aem boost controller
i kno that on the s300, you have boost control in the ecu, but as far as the s200 goes, even with boost option...i don't think so (don't take that to the bank!)
...hope that helps!
-in my setup, it was initially tuned at 9lbs and made lyk 297whp...i had the head reworked and installed a 3bar MAP and the aem boost controller...and had the new setup retuned at 15lbs...
that is one route to go...the other route is to just go with an s300 system...

I have a greddy Profec A and use it because I need to put down the power.
1st and second gear has 320ish power at 17lbs and then all 27psi in third gear for 400whp. I have a button on the shift **** that press when I went all the power. This helps a lot with traction of course.
