It's to let the pressure in the line from the controller to wastegate after the boost drops. If it wasn't there the trapped pressure would hold the wastegate open.

an mbc should just tee into your wastegate line. wastegate to bottom port and side port to boost source. no need to use the top port or any vents.

Hang yourself. I have to post to correct all the uninformed like yourself.

The vent is needed on MBCs. Most have the vent already drilled or worked someway into the design though.

In his case, no he doesn't need to ADD one himself. The halman will have it already.

Sorry Im sure this is a stupid question, but what is the difference between these turbos? I know one is made by garrett and the other by precision but my question is, if I get a bigger t3/t4e, will be essentially the same?

PS. My goal is 400whp and i dont mind a late spool.</TD></TR></TABLE>

If you don't know this ^^^, then you have no business talking about anything forced induction.

You'd think with those 3000+ posts that you would've learned to do some research for yourself and even pick up some info here and there, but you must've wasted it on stupid uneducated posts like in this thread.

Yeah because it takes an engineering degree to know how a vacuum line works. Just because I don't have compressor charts memorized in my head doesn't mean I don't know how to hook up a vacuum line.

Since you are such a smart *** why don't you let me know the difference between a t3/t4 and an sc61 that's not something like one is made by garrett and one is made by precision. I'm really looking forward to your answer....

So, you still think a vent is not needed?

Comparing T3/T4 to an SC61 is like comparing a "car" to "Honda."

One is a general description and the other is a brand. T3/T4 is a turbo that comprises of the T3 family turbine with the T4 family compressor. SC61 is a turbo that is manufactured by Precision Turbo. They come in couple different flavors too. The difference is that one comes with T3 turbine and the other a T4 turbine.

well thanks guys. i got it in and its working just fine. with out the vent, but i wish i had a different spring. i got the boost controller from a friend and he lost the light spring so im around 10psi, i would like to turn it down just a bit maybe to 7 or so. is there any way to turn it down more? or do i need the different spring?

your minimum boost has nothing to do with your mbc. your wastegate spring will dictate that. what wastegate are you using? if you have a 10 psi spring in the wastegate than 10psi is your lowest boost. im sure you can get a lighter spring if needed.

dpetro1 is right. The minumum amount of boost you can run is the spring. BCs can only increase boost.
