I just got done putting my motor together and i'm getting bluish white smoke out the exhaust. i'm also getting smoke out the pcv not alot. before i put the motor together i had the head redone and i didn't pull the block i just replaced the pistons and rings and the block has been honed out before(everything stock). I did a compression test after putting it together and i got 1:170 2:145 3:145 4:170.
Can i be getting water or oil through my head gasket or my rings? i say it might be the head gasket because i didn't deck the block. Or the rings because we pluged up the pcv valve off the valve cover while it was running and when we let it go it released alot of air. it sounded like a blow off. so i'm guessing air from my cylinders is getting past my rings and into my crankcase. could this be because i honed my cylinders out and the rings i bought were undersized? should i have went .20 over to compensate?

Well since you said you are getting bluish/white smoke, I instantly thought your rings were bad, but you said you replaced them. You also said you honed out the cylinder walls. How much did you hone them out. Because obviously it could be since it is honed and you are using stock sized rings and pistons they are not sealing properly.

i couldn't say how much i honed them out because it was done by a shop last year. i'll find out today once i do a leakdown test. oh also after shutting down the engine i pulled the #2 spark plug out maybe 5 mins after shutting the engine down and had smoke coming out of it. so i know it's something not sure what.
