Which Blox Cams
Please do not flame this thread because I am looking at Blox cams. I am looking to see either Blox Type A or Blox Tuner Stage 1 would be good for a GT30 turbo. This is for a 2.0 B series motor and manifold will be a mini ram.

Re: Which Blox Cams
It depends on the production date, old blox a's we're skunk tuner1 copy's , they are now ITR copy's. New blox a's are ITR copies and stage 1 is the skunk2 tuner 1 copy.

Re: Which Blox Cams
You can make power with GSR cams and the turbo you stated.

Re: Which Blox Cams
kinda sounds like my setup you are planning... 2.0L b20/vtec with blox tuner type a's, mini ram manifold, t3/t04 57-trim etc ..makes great power....440whp+ actually....
great cams for the budget....since most guys are trying to sell OEM cams for almost the same cost of new blox cams i went with those. just because the came out of a "type-r" there is a silly price tag that goes with them i suppose....i can't justify the cost on used and abused cams.

Sounds great I was looking at the Type A which looks to be a little more aggressive than the CTR/ITR cams. The Tuner stage 1 seem more aggressive than the Skunk2 tuner 1.
Does anyone have experience with the Blox Tuner Stage 1???
I am trying to extract a good broad powerband.

Re: Which Blox Cams
To NonVtec: The price is not high just because the cams came out of something named type-R.
Fact (1). OEM honda cams are made from better metal and are stronger than the Blox/skunk2 which are made from chill cast metal. I mean seriously, how many oem honda cams have you heard of breaking.
Fact (2). CTR and late model ITR cam profiles were the most agressive oem honda made cams for B series engines.
So a lot of people who trust honda quality materials use ctr cams because they want peace of mind and do not have to worry about cam breakage.
To the OP. Having been exposed to the blox a, blox b and blox p1 profiles, I can tell you for your setup I would use the blox b camshaft. The blox b make good power, idle is like stock and has good mid to top end with 30r type turbos or larger. Similarly to the skunk 2 pro 1, the blox p1s do well on larger turbo setups like 35r/6262 or larger. Do some searching and reading on here and you'll see a few who have made good power with the blox bs with similar set-ups to you. Evanstuning also has great info for setups with matched parts that work well together and produce good results.

I run blox b's but I'm looking to upgrade. I made 587whp on a 6765 on a 84x89 lsvtec. I think overall the blox b's have been a good cam and the car idles like stock

Re: Which Blox Cams
I've read a lot of your posts 92redhatch. What are you looking to upgrade to? Skunk 2 pro 1s, Webb cams, DDTEch, brian crower? I'm itching to try some ddtech stuff, just never heard much from all motor when it comes to turbo.

Re: Which Blox Cams
Interesting....I am looking for a set of ITR for my re-tune with my id 1000's.... Seeing how these blox A's are so close i would be interested in these...Although i do like the idea of having a oem camshaft. I wonder the reliablity differences from CTR vs blox a's .... Regardless of my cam selection i will be doing a side by side comparisson dyno graph from the Gsr cams and rc 750's VS. New cam and id 1000's. Wont be for 9 months min tho.

Re: Which Blox Cams
Understood...makes perfect sense...If CTR were easier to find i would go that route. the blox a's seem like a good choice. Not too big to have extra stress/wear on valvetrain. But certainly a power increase over the Gsr's. i have upgraded valvetrain and ported head but gsr cams. The blox a's are starting to look more and more appealing as i research. Seeing how there in Between CTR and Sk2 Tuner 1's.( those were the two cams i had in mind)

Another question for the BLOX cam users is how high RPM are you guys making on the cams?

Re: Which Blox Cams
I was in the same boat as you but after finding many people with BLOX cams and their success I was leaning towards them. Although BLOX is a knock off company they make some good products.
