I can get my type-s to blow off in neutral with my small 15g on the greddy kit. It's no where near as loud as when I drive though.

My t3/to4e and hks ss blow off a little if i rev to like 4k, Im not building boost but the BOV opens when the throttle plate closes so I get a little psst of air.

Nothing crazy like 15 psi

indeed, with a small *** 15g hairdryer, it will do it all day...lol. But i have seen it happen several times on a honda. I think all of them are 1.8 l and above though.

This is one of those mysterious quirks in life. Some setups do, some don't.

I believe it got a lot to do with compression as well. I don't know about now, because I don't dare to reve my engine past 4000rpms while its breaking in, but when I had stock pistons (cr 11:1) I was able build boost in neutral with a t3/t4 .63 a/r. And the turbine was always spinning, even at idle. I haven't checked to see if the turbine spins now with 9:1 cr though.

I also have thermal wrap on my header which I heard helps a bit too...

maybe its as simple as the adjustment for the BOV, I know with my Type S u can adjust the nut soft/hard; i can blow off in Neutral, but its very faint (18G).

The car in my sig blows off with no load but after like 6500rpm and like 1/3 as loud as if driving it.

You may also want to try the HKS racing BOV...it works a bit differently than the other BOV's in that it is always open when the throttle plate is closed. So even at idle the BOV is open. Makes for a better exit for excess boost pressure when not needed and absolutely no surge. So my car always blows off even at low revs.
