what are some charachteristics of a blown turbo?? how do you know if the turbo is bad?

 

The car smokes on cold start ups or during full boost pulls. You can see oil residue on the turbo and if it's bad enough on the block from where it squirts out. You can see oil lining the inside walls of your charge pipes.

 

what about symtoms of burnt/blown piston rings?

 

white smoke, power loss...gas mileage i believe as well

my turbo has been crapping out on my daily driver. i decided today its time to retire it.....considering i cant see out of the rearview mirror anymore, and there is actually a pool of oil in the exhaust tip james bond smoke screens are no good!
