Default Blown Headgasket:(

Hey guys i got a stock b16 full garrett turbo kit with upgraded fuel system and 750cc injectors running 6 psi and about 170whp. Ive only had the turbo on for 1500 miles, car has 108,000 milesand dont drive it hard that often. Why did it blow, i got a quote from my shop for $800 including arp head studs and a turbo gasket which they recommended. Is that too much is it worth it, how do i know im not gonna blow a rod or piston in the next couple months after i fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated

Who tuned the car? Power seems low to me. Stock b16 can handle 300-325 pump gas and 400-425 ethanol or race fuel with a set of head studs and a good tune. Sounds like it wasn't tuned or wasn't tuned properly.

You can do 300-325 without the need for headstuds or lower compression gaskets outside of stock. that's about as far as you want to go with the stock components anyway. Tuning, fuel, tuning, and more tuning.... (Did I forget to mention tuning? )

$800 isn't a bad quote at all for that amount of labor and parts.

but talk to the tuner & he should help you figure out the few possibilities. If he isn't responsive to your questions, find another tuner.

6psi and 170whp should not have blown the HG..my money is on no tuning (or running a basemap)

Replace it with another OEM honda HG and a set of ARP studs
