Is the noise coming from the bottom of the enigne more than the top?
I'm not a 100% sure on this but my guess would be from what your saying its probalby a spun bearing..

yup it seems t be comming from the bottom and spun bearing is what I figured it was. Is it worth to fix or just replace? I got a d15y7 block in storage. I wonder how well it would do with my d16y8(current motor) head and some turbo.

Re: blown engine @ 5psi ? (Sinner)
why do you think the engine is blown?
I re-read the post, I thought you had a single knock at 2,500 and that was it.
if it sounds like a loud valve tap then I would concur, spun bearing.

Re: (Sinner)
If you already have it in storage why spend money on machine work and all of that if your main concirn is to just get the car to a good runing condition..
I would say just drop the other block in and worry about fixing or building up the other one later on...
