blowing head gaskets left and right!
ok I need some help..I cant seem to be able to keep head gaskets on my engine..here is the setup
JG sleeved GSR block
83mm cp pistons
crower rods
GSR crank
T3/60-1 turbo
26 to 28 psi boost
1000cc injectors
Hondata
MSD 6A with Blaster ss coil
NGK "9" plugs
well the first time I tunned the car it blew the head gasket on the second high boost pull..I installed another head gasket (first was a golden eagle 83mm overbored gasket second was a cometic HP) and the car seemed to be great for about 7 days..well the cometic blew on me aswell..so I replaced it for the 3rd time with another golden eagle gasket but this time a 84mm instead of the 83mm,,well 1 day later it blew that one out..so I tore the hole engine down and decked the block and surfaced the head and bought brand new aebs head studs (thinking I may have streached the old ones) and went and to retune to make sure it was not detonation taking the gaskets out..well after only having 1 low boost pull it blew the new gasket (golden eagle) on the first high boost pull at 7500 rpm..
what can it be? everything was done 110% correct..torqued 2 steps first being 30 lbs and the second being 70 lbs..arp lube was used each and every last time the head was put back on..car has never detonated (pistons, valves and plugs are all great) race gas (C16) used on any pull over 8 psi of boost fully decked and surfaced new studs and used 2 diff TQ wrenchs to verifie correctness..what would cause this engine to keep blowing head gaskets? I have checked everything and all is great??? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!
FYI..
when I went to deck the block and the head the machinest said he only needed to take 1 thousanth off of each that they where already straight and correct. and that all the sleeves where inplace as they should be and had not sunk.

NOTE..
the gaskets are not burning thru anywhere..its kinda like the head is just lifting and blowing water out then sits back down and doesnt seal right again.

no I have not..but will copper spray really help that much? I mean I had a cometic HP gasket (which held the longest) that has the bore shim and it still blew.
this may seem stupid, but is there anyway there is coolant leaking into the cylinders somewhere else causing a huge increase in compression quick?

hehe, k...i will try to think of other things, as I know how frusterating this sort of thing can be. There isn't a chance they were on wrong was there? (just trying to cover ALL bases)

I know what you are saying..every last gasket was on with the "UP" mark on the gasket up and the part number tag under the vtec solenoid side of the head..just has me cluster fucked because I cant figure it out...
also, is your temp gauge climbing? i would check the cooling system for air, thermoswitch, thermostat, maybe its clogged..etc..

If your running studs you could be overtourquing. studs will clamp down with more force than bolts if their given the same tourque.
If your using 3\8" extender when your tourqing, they tend to flex and swallow touruqe. so your not getting the correct tourque.

hmmm did u check you intake manifold gasket, and also make sure you intake manifold was bolted down good around the coolant passage on the manifold?
i had coolant leaking into cylinder 4 because of that.
also maybe you shoud add some more torque to the head like maybe 75 or even 80 ft/lbs to keep that **** on the block if it keeps lifting.

i would try copper spray.. use enough to make it seal really well.. then i would also try to tourqe them down a little more, i found that on 1 block i built i tourqed them down to specs and it leaked a little oil, next block using the same tools i tourqed them tighter and its been fine.. maybe my tourqe wrench needs to be calibrated but the motor is still doing good..

after much coming to grips with it..yes it was the sleeves..they are rocking from front to back and causing the head gasket failure..
anyone got a good sleeved block they want to sell me?

Who sleeve your block?
Don´t you have warranty on the sleeve work?
Bring your block back to the mashine shop that did the sleeve work and let it sleeve it new.

There is your problem right there,I have a JG block that did the exact same thing
Your best be is to replace block to end the nightmares....JG = Just Garbage.
