ok so i got my freshly built z6 in my car and got it on the dyno, eagle rods/je pistons and as soon as the car hits boost it starts to shoot oil out the downpipe. am i right by assuming that the rings didnt seat right/installed right?

Re: blow by (dturbocivic)
did you perform any type of break-in procedure to make sure everything was hooked up right, there were no leaks, and allow the rings to seat? Was the engine builder around while it was on the dyno?

Re: blow by (SOHC_MShue)
i followed the breakin proceedure that is on ht, start the car up for 20 minutes to let it idle, change the oil. and then trailored it to the dyno. and no the engine builder wasnt at the dyno. there were no leaks when i had it running at my house and the only time oil is coming out downpipe is when its in boost.

well, you probably know the drill....compression and leakdown tests. If thats good you could pull the turbo off and run a header...if problem goes away, you may have found the culprit

Re: blow by (stdefhatch)
so my best bet is to do a compression/leakdown test, check turbo/check manifold for oil by head ports. and last case would be to pull the motor again........
