Default block guard

I was wondering what peoples opinion on a block guard are? I have heard some negative things about them not letting enough cooling through. I'm in the middle of a rebuild and was told to use one by a shop in my area. If someone could give me a little more info that would be great.

Block guards are ok to run if you install them correctly. If you plan to stay stock bore, then i wouldnt risk installing a block guard..

ok. that helps alot. i will just sleeve the block then because i don't want to put all this time into rebuilding and turbo and then have a bad link that causes failure.
