Default block gards?????????

so i was reading about block gards and there are a lot of people who dont like them. they say that it hurts you motor more than it helps because it does not let you block flex and disturbes the flow of coolent. meaning you car will over heat under daily driveing. now i thought that were just like a solid deck but i dont really know. so let me know what you guys think. should i buy them or now. and i do drive my boosted car almost every day in the summer.

Ive heard both positive and negatives as well. I do know a couple of people who use them, and they just bored out the holes on the guard to make them a little bigger so the coolant would flow better.

with very similar built engine setups, my buddy is running one, i'm not.

neither of us have had problems yet.

if i break a sleeve, i'll either fill a block or run a blockgaurd.

if it never happens, i'll just run stock sleeves.

I've used many block guards and never had a problem. NuFormz, Arizona Race and Machine, and Race Engineering- they've all worked fine for me. 569whp 81.5mm gsr with a NuFormz blockguard.

i dont think theres a problem because its closed deck. Darton makes closed deck sleevves, no problems with those.
