Default Block decking Milling

My engine builder decked my block today.
It looks like he took a lot off.
Its a b18c1 gsr.
How do I check the clearences?
Whats the clearance supposed to be at?

.006 he says there is .011 left. but i dont know how much the first machinist took off if any.

if you think he took off that much, maybe you should be worried about piston 2 head clearance.....LOL!

I think you're reading that wrong. A stock GSR has a .030" piston to deck clearance, not including the .029" 3-layer MLS gasket.

The easiest way to check is to put in a rod & piston combo of which you know the exact length of. Then clay the head/block at the quench pads. Google will tell you what OEM dimensions are supposed to be. Just remember to add the gasket thickness. It may be a pain, but its faster than finding someone with a mic big enough, or willing to set some rig up to measure it.
