is this block clean enough?
Becasue the stock B18c head gasket is made for a 81mm bore, and the b20 gasket is for a 84mm but with out the oil passages and either way you would have to either punch one out for the bore, or for the oil passages. Right? I dont know....
I don't understand. You said you are using a GSR block with the oil passages in it so you couldn't use the Honda gasket without modifying it. What head are you using? And why won't it work? Thanks for the pic.
BTW, my block work cost 880 to have it sleeved, bored, honed, decked, and O ringed, all with the specs I provided. I did not go through the group buy, this is your average price when anyone would call to get the same work. Turn around time is about 10 - 14 days for GE, thats the best part
Keep in mind though, this does not include shipping, which was expensive.[Modified by VaporTrail, 1:37 AM 1/9/2002]
but you are putting all those dirty mounting brackets back on?
I also polished the hell out of the drivers side upper mount, you could fix your hair looking into it
I'll post pics of the FINAL work soon enough
Ok I see. I was planning on using a GSR gasket opened up, that's what GE told me to do. Where can you get cometic gaskets at?
hey john you put that block to gethere with 84mm pistons yet. I was really trying to see if anyon can boost 30psi safely in 84mm setup.
I won't be pushing that much boost, maybe 15-17psi on race gas. I'll let you know how it turns out. Check out this one man, the power he makes on 12lbs and 550's
