whoa...looks like stock sleeves with aluminum rods in the water jacket...more info please? Looks a lot more promising then a block guard or posting. Never seen that before

Looks potentially like a lot of unevenly applied force on the stock sleeves.

the net force by the rods is 0, no doubt. but it is placed in such a way that hte surface area of each rod against hte sleeve is very small compared to the force the rod applies. A more even solution would be better...

How deep are the rods inserted into the block? By the looks of it, I'll treat the block as a stock block with blockguard.

That is old school sleeve posting. Probably one of the first tries at strengthening open deck honda blocks. I believe this type of support was more defined for the factory sleeves to not shift or move around inside the coolant jacket. As long as the machine work was performed properly and there isnt uneven force on the sleeves then you should be ok. But keep in mind that tuning is tuning (especially with 10.5:1 slugs), even blocks that have been sleeved still have the potential for cracking is tuning is shitty. With the posting the possiblilty of cracking is still there in between the posts.

What is this block worth. I was looking at changing setups and wanted to sell this one. It is a 97 b18b with less then 100 miles on it.
