The Blackbird rises from the ashes - SUPERCHARGED - Build Thread
This is what separates the men from their money......CUSTOM PARTS!
The F1 guys are really good at turning money into the next big thing. Just maybe, this build will establish a new criteria for the ultimate build. I am very impressed with the tech and reasonable pursuit of individuality with the craft of car construction. This build is a "one off" that we may be talking about for some time. Plus, supercharging these little bastards are just, well, BOSS.
After my nitrous builds, I'm a charge one of these 2.0s

This is the remnants of my fallen valve. Its already 84.5 and sleeved. (Jrcivic confirm that is not block guard plz).
now do I try to hone or go ahead and bore.
1.should I go ahead and get the 85mm piston prior to machine shop visit. ?
2. Will that and a stock stroke yeild me 2.05liters
3. Should I just start a new thread or chime in here from time to time for assistance.
This is my first real jrsc rebuild in 13yrs. I will need assistance.

I would definetly take it to a machine shop first and see what it takes to remove those gouges, theres no way to tell from pictures what it will take to get the surface perfect again machine shop is the only way.
Last thing you want to do is spend money on pistons you have no use for
looks like GE sleeved block to me

Mine was terribly expensive since it was a one-off. The first machine shop I tried took $700 from me and delivered NOTHING useable... the second machine shop dug into my wallet $800 deep... which hurt, but at least I got a product that worked !!!
Well you mentioned you also lost 7 lbs @ crank. Can you make a video showing how free revving this setup is?
$1500 spent in just one custom pulley! lol.l that is crazy. you have too much money sir. you should fund R&D with me, i can produce lots of trick parts for the type of money you're throwing around. ha ha.

Yes... it was way too expensive... and it is a shame that some people can't run a respectable business. Even if the first machinist got it right... it would have been pricey. Having to go to machinist #2 made it just hurtful... but I was WAY too far into the project to turn back. In the end though, I believe I have the most powerful supercharged "B" series Honda engine on the planet... and that is worth EVERY penny spent !!!

OK, I had Motorvations Motorsports strap the car down for a cool weather touch-up tune... to be certain it is safe and to see what increase in power would be realized by tuning on something other than a 100' F day... so I picked a 60' F day. LOL !!!
The increase was surprising. No ignition timing changes were made... only fuel adjustments to enrich the fuel delivery for the denser air. Motorvations had difficulty with the tach signal for some reason, so the dyno graph that I will post only has the HP line pictured... no torque.
Results: 539.5 WHEEL HP !!!!!
I am currently out of town, but I will post the dyno sheet on Monday for all to see. I understand there was a video of the pull as well, so I will try to get that posted also.
Stay tuned... and Enjoy.

NO !!! GoPro was a no-show at PRI !!! Anyway, here is a short clip from the dyno session above (I hope) to whet your whistles. This was a 4th gear pull from 2500-9300 RPM. I think the video started a little late, but you get the idea.
I dunno if it's just my phone but the video had no sound lol.

It works just fine on my desktop... if anyone else has trouble, send me a PM and let me know. Admittedly, I am not "tech savvy", so it could be a problem on my end. It was shot with an IPhone and emailed to me. I cannot watch it on my G7... but I am confident that it is because I do not have the proper downloads/plug-ins installed to view it. I just got off the phone with GoPro tech support and they have tried to repair my HERO3... if it works, I will shoot some more video !!! Stay tuned.
Video worked fine for me on a desktop as well. I see you are in birmingham. I will have to get in touch with you on the machine shop you used for the crank. Nice to know we have someone here that can do that. How much did you say passes were for a ride? I need convincing on a SC setup on my crx haha

The car is over at Motorvatons right now so that they can test fit the new production crank pulley... the beta pulley has some incorrect dimensions, so it is going to take them longer than I thought to get it done. They are gonna give me one for letting them use my car to test fit it.
