Default bigger injector? or sleeves first?

Ive been slowly building my setup larger and larger as the last 2-3 years have gone by

my prev setup was
Greddy turbo kit, with Greddy FMIC, 550cc (RC) using hondata
SRP 9.5:1 and eagle h-beams

my newer setup is
NO SLEEVES STILL - never had time or money
still SRP 9.5:1 comp
eagle H-beams
supertech valvetrain (good for 10,500)
inline pro mani
tial 38mm
innovative t3/t4 .63A/R stage 3 57trim
2.5" DP to test pipe to 3" cat back thermal RD
still on hondata
STR fuel rail

-how much power are those 550cc good for with that?
-do i need to upgrade or will my sleeves not handle more anyway?
-when tuning when should i ask the tuner to stop revving for safe level?
-what power level should i shoot for or expect?
- what boost level should i stop at?

I ask because this is my only car- currently tuned and running for 2 years on a slightly rich 12.0 or 11.9 for safety. i will be playng it safe again because this is my only can and im in school. - when i get out i dont care if i blow it because ill ahve money to get another-- but for now....

please help - thanks

is your turbo an e or b housing?....if you arent looking for more than 400hp....stock block should be o.k...550's may be ok for 350-400hp....also you need to establish a power goal...theres a big diff. between sleeves and injectors

I understand- let me rephrase the Q
I am asking which i will run out of first--

i have been reading that 550cc seem to peak out at 350ish whp at a 90% duty cycle. However, this seems to be true for sohc guys- im running a b18c1

also if these injectors can hold 350whp max - and stock sleeves are now known to hold 375-400 then ill be maxing the injector before the sleeves - so im ok and can do such--- all assuming a safe A/F tune.

Will i have stock sleeves and im pushing about 22 psi on the SC 61 tO4s-e turbo:
the only bottom end stuff i have are crower billet rods and je pistons and a block guard but i did have them balance my block components when i threw everything together about couple years ago... runs fine... i also had the greedy setup just like you before and know im running 850cc CPR injectors... but if you want to play it safe buy the sleeves because I know for a fact my stock sleeves are eventually are going to give out plus I barely drive my car anywhere and if you do upgrade to bigger injectors you might start to wash your stock cylinder sleeves down by the excessive gas… so I would suggest that you should get your sleeves upgraded if it’s a daily driver with 400-500 hp

for your other questions :

Boost to stop at does not matter its all about what makes you get to the power it could take 10psi or 30 psi to reach a 400 mark but its power that determines when you should stop … a block that is semi built like mine should be able to with stand max power of 425-450 wheel HP.. but any further than that you are going to break something or might feel good about then but latter you are eventually going to break something….

Your power goal really depends on two things … how good is the MOTOR built and How good is the person who is tuning is??

With sleeves I would shoot for power over 400hp or what ever the tuner could get out of it.. but with out them I would stay below that… level.. and also don’t think that your motor is invincible because you got sleeves a poor tuner can blow up a fully built motor…

I hope this helps you in some way…

well bad news- i pulled the head today to install the built one--

found that all 4 cyl walls are scratched up a bit, mostly on intake side (back side of the motor), valves also seemed white and charred, plugs were white too-

I used to be tuned rich seems to have leaned out a bit. i havent touched anything, and its hondata.

also noted some slight pings on the piston head even though its forged, so
i evidently have detonation on a 12.0:1 A/F - makes no sense to me. i thought that was safe... maybe tiimng has been altered? but i dont remember touching the dist. only the cap and rotor were changed

i think im gonna start another thread about this to get more advice with a diff subject.
