Default Big Intercooler!

This is my good friends full drag DFI powered CRX. It has a fully built SOHC ZC motor that will be running a 60-1 HIFI Turbonetics turbo, and this huge Front mount! My partner and I will be doing all the Intercooler pipe work and exhaust...

Yeah, yeah I know it doesn't look like much but look out, this thing was actuallly built right, he has actually built several of these little guys and they run pretty good. This is by far the most time and money he has put into one, we'll hopefully fire it up in a week or two, we're still waiting on the manifold.

Why drive a built CRX when you have a John Deere?

Haha, thats a damn good question. I never asked the exact specs on it, I was just worried about the specs on the end tanks etc. so I can get stared on setting up the piping The intercooler apparently started out about 3 times bigger (taller) and came off a Peterbuilt Semi of some sort. It was trimmed down and custom end tanks were added. A local place here apparently trimmed it down and sold it to him dirt cheap. Were honestly not sure how it will perform yet, it should work out well. I'll keep you forced induction guys posted on the CRX. I'll be doing my own Type R turbo project soon too

so um...i hope someone sat down and did some math to make sure all that cooling area wasn't a waste or yeilded marginal gains.

at some point the aerodynamics of the car will be compromised by the shape of the front of the car. i think you guys are at that point.

Simplicity...Uniqueness...Weight...Cost...

He mainly wants to be different and we've been boosting single cams since like '98 and we thought what the hell, lets build the **** out of one of these motors that are dime a dozen and see how much power we can get.
M

As far as aerodynamics go, it's going to run the stock front bumper(obviously chopped up a bit) this season, then he plans on a 1 piece front end sometime down the road. The Intercooler may or may not be overkill, but we're gonna be pushing ALOT of boost, more cooling the better is our attitude at this point.
