WHICH IS BETTER?
Now i have been hearing alot of controversey over this so i came here for the solution since i know the best of the best r here so here it goes. The bigger the turbo the betta, right? [IMG][/IMG] EX: a T51 is betta then a T31.
better in terms of what?
power? spool?
power = the bigger the better
spool = smaller the better
the hard part is balancing those two together for your engine.

You can't even generalize that much. Depending on all kinds of things, like bearing type, A/R, turbine wheel, setup, a bigger turbo could spool faster and make less power than a smaller one. Who knows.
There is a "right" turbo for every setup, that's what matters.

Screw you guys, I'm... going... home.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Not necessarily. What is *best* is a turbo with the highest and broadest efficiency range for the flow rate and boost level that matches your engine. It is just as easy (and far more common) to go too big with a turbo as it is to go too small. The difference being that too small of a turbo usually still makes a good daily driver (unless you go stupid small) but has poor top end, whereas too large of a turbo is lousy to drive everywhere, both street and track. That said, IMHO most poeple who post on H-T usually recommend too large of a turbo unless it's an all-out race motor. If you disagree, look at how many posts there are with people whining about getting no boost until high revs.
